5 additions in your diet for a perfect Radiant skin!

This post is my last post for this month or may be a few weeks of the next one as I am heading back to India next weekend! Yippie… how exciting is that! Well i do have a big news waiting for you guys but lets just wait for the right time 🙂

Before I start with the topic of today’s post, I want to announce that I have started a new endeavor as a Guest Blogger for one of the best Indian wedding inspiration websites called ThinkShaadi. This website basically focuses on providing wedding inspiration regarding outfits, photography, health and fitness and lots more for the brides to-be along with some real wedding examples to look at! My first post for ThinkShaadi was based on — How to get a perfect Radiant skin for the Big-day— is not really helpful for future brides but also play an important role in every woman’s life. I have added this post on my blog as it discusses 5 important additions/changes in your diet that will lead you towards your goal for a better skin. So keep scrolling 😛

All our lives, we girls dream for our perfect wedding! Be it the right dress, the right decor, the right jewelry and lots of other fancy things. We always tend to stress ourselves thinking about our Big day, the day which hasn’t yet arrived but holds so much importance in our present life, right? One important and the most desirable thought of every bride-to-be is to imagine herself as the most beautiful bride ever, with the perfect smile and glowing skin, catching the eye of hundreds of people. So here are some great foods and habits you should add in your daily routine to get the perfect pre-bridal glow on.

To make it simple and not at all complicated, Let me start with 3 basic rules:

  1. Eat well!
  2. Drink well!
  3. And exercise well!

You must have heard about all this before but what it really means is what I am going to tell you now. Eat well means eat at least 1 green vegetable everyday! Be it cooked or raw in the form of a salad. Include fruits, nuts and proteins in your everyday diet. Secondly, by drink well i don’t really mean drink lots and lots of water! Well yes water is the most essential part of a healthy beauty regime, but drink a variety of healthy fluids at the same time. Some of them are discussed below. And last but not the least, exercise at least 30-45 mins everyday! Sweating the toxins and waste from our body plays another important part in making your skin radiant and healthy looking.

Now lets be more specific. Here are my top 5 interesting additions not only perfect to make your skin look awesome during your wedding but also contributes to weight loss and prevention of bloating, a very common concern amongst all brides.

  1. GREEN TEA

One of the best addition to your daily routine, green tea is the healthiest drink on the planet! Don’t just sip it, just drink it! Green tea has the ability to lower the level of acne producing hormones & is packed with antioxidants which help your skin look younger and healthier. Besides that, it also helps improve brain function, fat loss and lowers the risk of cancer and prevents bloating. Drink at least 4-5 cups of green tea everyday.

2. Get your BERRIES right!

Deeply colored berries such as blueberries, cherries, strawberries etc are loaded with antioxidants that boosts production of collagen fibers for smooth skin. Vitamin C is what you get from these fruits. More C means fewer fine lines! Add a small bowl of these mixed berries in your everyday routine and feel the difference!

3. Say YES to YOGURT!

Yes! Yogurt is one of the few dairy products that has innumerable benefits from weight loss to glowing skin! Whether you apply on your face or eat, it works both ways 😉 I have recently added yogurt into my regular diet & trust me its working wonders! Not only its fights indigestion but its pro-biotic properties helps get rid of acne prone skin and acts as a great detoxifying agent.

There are 3 different ways you can make your yogurt taste better! I personally love the 2nd one 😉

a) Opt for Greek yogurt! Its actually healthier, has fewer calories and gives you option to choose from a variety of flavors. I personally love blueberry and raspberry. Try opting for the one with real fruit inside over just the flavored ones.

b) In places where flavored yogurt is not available, add your favorite fruits in a bowl of yogurt and make your own yogurt custard 🙂 That’s what i like to call it! And yes skip the sugar as you will have enough of sugar from all the fruits added.

c) Who doesn’t love smoothies? The best way to have all the nutrients from fruits, veggies and dairy products all-in-one together is to make a healthy and tasty smoothie out of it. There are a plenty of recipes that involves certain green vegetable like spinach, kale, avocado, and nuts & various seeds that are healthy additions to your diet. But let’s keep those for future posts!

4. NUTS & SALADS:

Nuts and salads are rich in fibers, and should be consumed every alternate day. They consume a lot of energy and are difficult to digest and provide heat to our bodies, therefore, there has to be a limitation for their consumption. Nuts are rich in Vitamin E and omega fats and helps in repairing skin problems. Add nuts to your salad or cereal, or as a mid-morning snack every other day.

5. “What would you like to drink , Madame? Soda, juice, lemonade, wine? …..Well, Water please!”

That’s how the future brides should be replying in every restaurant they go to at least 2-3 months before the D-day. In order to reach your goal to a better looking and clear skin, you will have to sacrifice your love of artificial drinks or sodas & let your skin feel fresh with water! Water is all you need to flush out all the toxins from your body. An easy way is to keep a track of how much water you consume everyday and increase the intake every week as you get closer to your goal. If you haven’t done this yet, then start with 2 litres per day and 1 glass extra every week until you reach consuming up-to 6-8 litres a day!

Another healthy substitute of water could be coconut water as well as lemon water. Lemon, water and honey make a great combo and helps in preventing bloating as well!

That’s all you gotta do 🙂 I hope these healthy additions to your daily regime are helpful for everyone. At the end i would want to say that ” Beautiful skin needs commitment, not a miracle!” So commit yourself to these few tips and feel the difference!
